What age groups do you teach?

We offer lessons for students starting from as young as 5 years old up to school leavers.

What instruments can I learn at JustPlay Music School?

Our experienced tutors cover all instruments, each having studied music to at least degree level and performed professionally.

Where are the lessons conducted?

We teach over 700 students weekly across Surrey, including sessions in schools, community centres, homes, online and at our Music Academy HQ in New Haw.

Do you offer opportunities for students to perform?

Yes, our lessons are built around termly targets that culminate in live performances at our JustPlay Concert Series, held in large venues where the public, friends, family, and other musicians come together to celebrate our students’ hard work and artistry. Not only this we also host regular concerts at our music centre and students also get the chance to record in our professional recording studio.

Can students take music grade exams through your school?

Absolutely. We provide our students with the opportunity to work towards Rockschool and Trinity College London accredited musical grade exams. We are a registered exam centre so students can take exams with us on our premises or take the online digital option.

Who are the tutors at JustPlay Music School?

JustPlay is founded and run by guitarist Alex Hart. Our team comprises tutors who have each studied music to at least degree level and have professional performance experience.

What is your safeguarding policy?

Our teachers undergo in-house safeguard training, participate in immersive education workshops, and receive ongoing support and feedback through regular school visits, lesson observations, and training sessions. All our tutors carry an enhanced dbs check and hold public liability insurance. And a full vetting procedure is carried out before our tutors are considered suitable to join us.

Do you offer group lessons or only one-on-one sessions?

We provide both one-on-one and group lessons, depending on the student’s preference and learning objectives.

What are the lesson fees?

What is the process for booking a trial lesson?

Do you offer online lessons for remote students?

Yes we offer online music lessons.

What is your policy on lesson cancellations or rescheduling?

For non club lessons such as one to one sessions lessons require 24 hours notice for changes or cancellations. For clubs and jamming togethers, these run termly and missed sessions cannot be reimbursed.

Are there any discounts available for multiple family members enrolling?

Do I need to have my own instrument, or can I rent one through the school?
